Our History

Founding and Early Beginnings

In 1995, Dr. Charles R. Anderson founded Anderson Materials Evaluation, Inc. to provide high-quality materials problem-solving laboratory services, particularly for private sector clients. Dr. Anderson, with expertise gained from his tenure at Lockheed Martin Laboratories, the Naval Surface Warfare Center, and Case Western Reserve University, specializes in surfaces, interfaces, coatings, adhesive bonding failure analysis, and corrosion. AME initially utilized equipment Dr. Anderson bought from Lockheed Martin, which had been used in the Surface Analysis Lab, where Dr. Anderson had worked before that laboratory was closed. Early customer support enabled us to expand our analytical tools rapidly to better serve our clients.

Growth and Expertise Expansion

In 2002, Dr. Lorrie Krebs, a materials scientist and engineer, joined AME and later became Vice President. She contributed significantly to our expertise in electrochemistry, corrosion analysis, metallography, and fractography before her retirement in early 2023. Dr. Kevin Wepasnick was a mainstay chemist with us from 2011 to 2019. From June 2020 to August 2024, we benefited from the expertise of Dr. Vaidheeshwar Ramasubramanian, a highly capable chemical engineering Ph.D. Our scientist team now consists of Dr. Charles Anderson, Dr. Priyanshu Banerjee, Dr. Griffin Spence, and Dr. Shreyasi Sengupta, with business support provided by Kate Anderson. Our team has earned renown for solving complex materials problems that other labs cannot.

Continuing Commitment and Growth

With the support of our loyal customers and dedicated staff, AME continues to expand our analytical instrument and in-house proprietary analytical procedures. We focus on integrating multiple techniques to address diverse materials challenges effectively. As we celebrate 29 years of service, we remain committed to enhancing our capabilities to meet the analytical, testing, consulting, and expert witness needs of our clients.
